Catch Basin & Drainage Repair. Edison & Middlesex County, NJ

Sunken basins, failed rims, and ponding lots: the drainage repairs that save the pavement.

Free Written Estimates Commercial, Industrial & HOA

Edison Paving repairs pavement drainage across Edison: sunken catch basins, failed rims and collars, ponding zones, and the trench drains at doors and docks. Water is what kills asphalt, and every drainage repair is really a pavement-preservation project with a grate on top.

The sinking catch basin, explained

The pavement ring around a catch basin fails first on almost every aging lot: traffic pounds the rim, water works into the joint, freeze-thaw pries the collar loose, and the basin settles into its own crater. The repair rebuilds the structure, not just the surface: excavate the collar, reset or rebuild the frame to grade on fresh mortar and riser sections as needed, then rebuild the surrounding pavement in hot mix compacted against a sound edge. Done properly it outlasts the surrounding mat; done as a skim patch it reopens by spring.

Ponding and flow corrections

Standing water marks the spots where pavement is dying fastest. We diagnose whether the cause is settled pavement, a rim set high, a clogged or collapsed lateral, or a grade that never worked, then fix the actual cause: milling and overlay to re-establish fall, structure adjustments, trench drains across doors and dock aprons, or new inlets where the original design left a bowl with no exit. Jetting and camera work on laterals is coordinated where the pipe itself is the suspect.

Bundled with paving, budgeted like maintenance

Drainage structures get adjusted in every resurfacing we run, that is standard scope, but they should not wait for one. Annual programs include a structure check in the spring walk-through, and rim repairs get priced into the season’s mobilization, where they cost a fraction of an emergency dig in a lot full of holiday shoppers. The lot that manages its water is the lot that skips a reconstruction cycle.
