Asphalt Paving. Edison & Middlesex County, NJ
The core trade: hot-mix asphalt for driveways, lots, lanes, and everything that rolls.
Edison Paving is an asphalt company in Edison: driveways, parking lots, private lanes, approaches, and pads. If the finished product is hot-mix asphalt, it is our trade, and this page is the straight explanation of what separates paving that lasts thirty years from paving that lasts ten.
Asphalt Paving by our own crew, measured and quoted in writing
Asphalt is a system of layers
The blacktop you see is the wearing course, typically an inch and a half to two inches of fine hot mix. Under it on bigger work sits a binder course of coarser mix that carries load, and under everything a compacted dense-graded aggregate base doing the structural work. The subgrade below must be shaped, drained, and firm. Every failure you have ever seen in pavement, alligatored sections, ruts, potholes, traces to one of those layers being skipped, thinned, or laid on the wrong day.
Compaction is the invisible product
Between the paver and the finished surface stands the rolling pattern, and it decides density. Asphalt compacted to proper density sheds water and flexes for decades; asphalt rolled thin and cold stays porous, drinks water, and dies from the inside. Density is also the difference you cannot inspect at handoff, which is why choosing a paving contractor is really choosing whose habits you trust when nobody can check the work. Our answer: the same rolling patterns and temperature discipline on every job, because the crew only knows one way.
Residential and commercial, one standard
We pave for homeowners, businesses, HOAs, and property managers across Edison. The scale changes; the physics does not. A homeowner gets the same mix sheet a shopping plaza gets. A property manager gets the same honest probe-first assessment a homeowner gets. One standard, written into every quote: material, depths, and scope on paper you can compare line by line.
