Asphalt Repair & Patching. Edison & Middlesex County, NJ
Cut-and-rebuild patching that holds: potholes, failed sections, and utility cuts done right.
Edison Paving repairs asphalt across Edison: potholes, failed sections, settled utility cuts, and the ragged edges that unravel a little more each season. Real patching is small-scale reconstruction, saw-cut edges, rebuilt base, hot mix compacted flush, and it is the difference between a repair that disappears and a divot that reopens by spring.
Asphalt Repair & Patching by our own crew, measured and quoted in writing
Why most patches fail and ours hold
Saw-cut edges
A patch poured into a ragged hole bonds to nothing. We cut back to sound pavement in straight lines so the new material locks against clean vertical faces.
The base gets fixed too
The pothole happened because the base failed beneath it. We excavate, recompact, and rebuild the layer that caused the problem, not just the layer that shows it.
Hot mix, compacted
Cold patch is a temporary product and behaves like one. Our repairs use hot mix rolled or plate-compacted to density, flush with the surrounding grade.
Water gets an exit
If water pooled there before, the patch alone will not save it. We correct the local grade or add drainage so the failure mechanism leaves with the hole.
Repair programs for properties
For commercial lots and HOAs we run scheduled repair sweeps: an annual walk of the property, a prioritized list of what needs cutting out now versus watching, and one mobilization that handles the year’s repairs at better pricing than four emergency visits. It is the cheapest way to keep a lot serviceable between resurfacing cycles, and the documentation keeps the capital-planning conversation honest.
Utility cuts and trench restoration
The settled trench line where a gas or water crew opened the pavement is its own repair category: the utility’s temporary patch was never meant to be permanent. We rebuild trench cuts to match the surrounding structure, base compacted in lifts, hot mix laid flush, so the scar stops sinking and the plow stops finding it every winter.
