Asphalt Milling. Edison & Middlesex County, NJ
Cold milling for grade corrections, overlay prep, and recycled material that never leaves the trade.
Edison Paving provides asphalt milling across Edison: the cold-planing process that grinds pavement to a set depth for overlay preparation, grade corrections, and full-depth removals. Milling is how commercial paving controls elevations, and it is the reason our overlays meet every garage, curb, and drain flush instead of building the pavement ever higher.

Why milling matters on your project
Every overlay adds thickness, and thickness has to go somewhere. Without milling, driveways creep up against garage slabs until water runs the wrong way, and lots bury their catch-basin rims and curb reveals. Milling removes exactly the depth the new course will add, at the transitions or across the whole surface, so finished grades land where they belong. It is the difference between resurfacing a pavement and just burying it.
Edge mills, full mills, and corrections
Most residential overlays need edge milling: a few feet of taper at the garage, the apron, and the walks. Commercial mats often take full-surface milling to reset the profile and remove rutted or oxidized material wholesale. Milling also corrects grades independently of paving, shaving a high spot that ponds water uphill of it, or restoring curb reveal that decades of overlays consumed. If your pavement’s problem is elevation, milling is usually the tool.
Millings, recycled honestly
Asphalt is one of the most recycled materials in the country, and the grindings from milling work go straight back into service: to the plant for new mix, or as compactable millings surfacing for lanes and yards. Nothing we grind goes to waste, and customers who want their own millings retained for on-site use can say so at the estimate.
